I took ignite bkup of one of my server..rx4640..hpux 11i v2.....8gb ram....
ignite ux version :->>

SolutionIn case your system cannot boot from tape, you need to boot from the install DVD.
This is step 1.
Now select
-> Install HP-UX -> select Advanced Installation -> Recovery tape -> GO!
Ignite will restore the backup from tape.
This is step 2.

From what I can gather in itanium you need to boot from a CD or DVD, then there will be a menu from were you can choose your tape device to recover your system.

Depending on the model a firmware upgrade for Itanium systems can add an option to boot the system from tape directly without the need of a CD/DVD.
