Re: ignite restore

There is a slight possibly that it will work.

I wouldn't place much hope though. I think there is too much difference in the type of machines.

Re: ignite restore

Hi

I feel rp7420 is a cell based server and L-2000 is a processor based server. There is less hope for a restoration.

Re: ignite restore

Hi Dan

There is little hope that it will work, since IO subsystem on two servers are quite different. However you may try restore in interactive mode and good luck to you

Re: ignite restore

Hi,
There is an Ingnite option "Clone system to a different hardware" (or something similar). Have you tried this ?

"In each case, the source system that is used must contain software that is compatible with all clients. This means that the version of HP-UX, patches, drivers, etc., must be sufficient for all systems involved. This often requires installing a superset of software and drivers onto the source system that will be used on all potential clients."

Re: ignite restore

Thanks for all of the input. I did notice the "Clone" system option and will try this tomorrow. We are heading to sungard next week to recover 10+ systems and the system matching was done prior to my hire date...... Sungard says no problem using the clone option, but will see. We just don't have a 1-to-1 match on all of the HW, so it will be fun! Disk storage is another monster I'll have to deal with.

thanx.
