Ignite-UX server on 11.11

I have Ignite-UX C 7.6.100 running on a k580. The k580 is running HP-UX 11i v1(11.11). I am planning to copy depots from the 11iV2(11.23) DVDs to this server so that I can install 11iv2 on a remote N4000 system over LAN. I am wondering if this will work ?

You may want to do some research. I seem to remember that 11.23 hosts had issues booting from 11.11 ignite servers.

About a year ago or so I had to migrate to an 11.23 Ignite server due to something like this. May have gotten fixed since then, who knows.

I am currently running 7.4 ignite server from an 11.31 and having no issues at all supporting 11.11, 11.23 and 11.31 recoveries.

It may just work fine and you may just have to find out by doing it.

If I can find the issue I mentioned I will post it.

Thank You. Looking forward to hear the details.I am trying to download Ignite-UX from HP. HP has listed four versions; one each for 11iv1, v2 & V3 and then one for all three. I will try the one they have there for all three revs and I will reply tomorrow. HP site seems to down at the moment

I have downloaded the bundle and installed. I have the first DVD in and it is copying to a depot on the server. I believe it is done copying all of the first DVD. But the GUI has not asked me to put the second DVD in yet. I wonder if it is going to ask me for the second DVD ?

If you are creating Golden Images with your 11.23 distro DVDs then depending on the products selected to copy it may not ask you for DVD #2.

You can always use swlist on the DVDs to see what products are on what DVDs as a confirmation.
