Re: Increasing size of root, boot and tmp volume
take an ignite backup of your vg00( root volume). Restore the ignite with interactive mode and change the boot and root volume sizes. This is the practical method.

Re: Increasing size of root, boot and tmp volume
I'll give you some guide: when booting from the ignite tape: choose Install HP-UX, then Advanced Installation, from the next screen, make sure that the [Root disk..] corresponds to the right path. Go with tab to "File System" and here change the size as needed.

Re: Increasing size of root, boot and tmp volume
As suggested by collegues we cannot increase the contiguous lvols in vg00 like root stand. Since you are holding the ignite boot interactively and change change the filesystem sizes and load the OS. You can also upgrade the disks during this operation.
cheers

Re: Increasing size of root, boot and tmp volume
Here are the steps you have to do:
1. Make recovery tape with -I and -A option.
2. To be sure make a copy of the tape to another tape.
3. shutdown the server
4. Start the server and interupt the boot
5. Insert the tape
6. Put SEA command ang wait for possible boot devices
7. enter command
boot P?
? - is appropriet number of tape device
9. Answer N for IPL
10. Wait until it boots and the user interface is shown
11. Select HP-UX-inatallation
12. If you want to change the filesystem size check the advanced mode -> go to Filesystem tab
After all it will start installation on the system and it will reboot by the istallation proces.

Borislav
