ioscn gives NO_HW
when i am giving #ioscan -fl to list hardware status I got NO_HW at hardware path
0/3/1/0.13.0
at this path my ultrium is connected
then I chacked softerware for it it is also present.
because of this my backup is stoped.
What is the problem & how can I over come From it

check with fcmsutil /dev/
check status for driver state
if using scsi, maybe your cable not plug properly.

please speify which ultrium you are connected to your system.if it having auto termination please check the cable ,other wise check the terminator and scsi cable from server to ultrium drive ,make ensure that it is powering on .you can check in pdc wether it is detecting the drive in there

If the OS says NO_HW, it cannot see it.
Check the physical device, could be bad cable, terminator, powered-down.
Check /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log and see if there are errors/error-codes pertaining to the HW as well.

If you are using a SCSI connection to the Ultrium drive, the speed of the SCSI card may need to be changed to match up the the Ultrium drive.
Do an "ioscan -fnH0/3/1/0" and paste it please.
