Is there a Macromedia package available?

I have gotten Gnome and Mozilla installed and working on my HP-UX box and all seems to be working pretty much as I would expect with one noticeable deficiency. Some of the web pages that I have tried to view won't let me in because they need either the Macromedia Flash player or the Shockwave plug-ins for the browser.

When I go to the Macromedia site, they don't have the slightest idea what I need and send me to a page that should house some alternatives for me. The closest thing that I can find in the Flash arena is for Netscape browser and nothing for the Mozilla 1.4 browser.

I tried to search the forums and at first it gave me two pages of results but when I got through thumbing through the first page with no luck and tried to go to the second one it told me that my search produced no results at all! {Dan, you listening to this??}

Could anybody tell me if there are any Macromedia plug-ins that work with the Mozilla 1.4 browser on HP-UX 11.11 and, if so, where a person could get them from? It would be nice to be able to use the Unix system as the 'end all be all' system of choice for daily use, but this type of issue would have to be resolved before that dream could be realized.

Any help available?

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

Here is the URL that lists all the plugins for mozilla on HP-UX.

http://www.hp.com/products1/unix/java/mozilla/mozilla_plugins.html

It does have a supported Macro media flash player plug-in package.

Re: Is there a Macromedia package available?

I have it installed.

The macromedia flash website points to the hp website that is in the first response.

After deployment the mozilla browser appeared to become unstable. This problem went away after booting the HP-9000 server.

Though not required, I recommend a boot of the HP-9000 server after installation.

Re: Is there a Macromedia package available?

I did it all, nothing worked... I did see this:

# Patch PHCO_28112 is necessary for full Unicode support in the Flash Player.

# B2000 require patches PHKL_28253, PHSS_28547, and PHSS_28548 to address a sound irregularity in some movies

Is there a link where I can search & choose from *ALL* of the PH's?

Thanks.
