issue with nis user

Hi All

Two days back I have moved my nfs home directories from one red hat linux system to an Hpunix system ..Now the problem is nis user hand (will not give the $prompt after providinf the user name and password )
I have checked with the local user of the system
1) give and su nisuser it works but
2)but hangs if I give su - nis user

I could go to the home directories ...

Binu,

One problem could the $HOME/.sh_history file.
Try to set it to a local /tmp directory (.profile) and try to su - nisuser again.
