IUX server recovery from non built-in LAN !!!

Hi,

I'm facing the following problem when i try to boot / install one client ( rp2405 ) using ignite.

The environment is:

Client ( one rp2405 ) using multiple lan interfaces.

Server ( ignite-ux ).

Just to keep in mind, i did the make_net_recovery before and it's work fine and the IUX server is setup fine too.

When i do the command:

Main Menu: Enter command or menu > sea lan install

Searching for potential boot device(s) - on Path 0/0/0/0
This may take several minutes.

To discontinue search, press any key (termination may not be immediate).

IODC
Path# Device Path (dec) Device Path (mnem) Device Type Rev
----- ----------------- ------------------ ----------- ----
P0 0/0/0/0 lan.X.X.X.X LAN Module 2

Main Menu: Enter command or menu >

The search is done but show me just the built-in lan, why this happen??, because i have others IUX servers in others LAN.

Thanks in advance.

This just trying to help you.

Since the introduction of patitionable hardware (Superdome and so on) only buil in lan can be used for recovery.

Bye

If this is not your case, please, try to explain it again

Re: IUX server recovery from non built-in LAN !!!

Yes TAM,
You have to recover thr' built in lan only. As per the docs it says you have to use built lan which can be recognised as potential boot device by PDC (I think this could be the reason for this, may be).
Just check whether you have made proper entries of this rp2405 in Ignite server properly. Check whether MAC add/boot file specified in bootptab/instl_tab is correct.
Check #instl_adm -d output to see all other setting like ip add/subnet etc is correct.

Then using built lan continue on rp2405 as:

Main Menu> boot lan. install

Hope this helps.
You need to know a lot to actually know how little you know
