Jetadmin EX Plus - bootp
I'm trying to get a jetadmin EX Plus to bootp off a C160. I've got the following :-
/etc/bootptab (perm 444) :-
DJ850: :ht=ether: :ha=0060b0bc4147: :hn: :ip=192.168.101.103: :vm=rfc1048:
/etc/hosts (perm 644) :-
192.168.101.103 DJ850
/etc/inetd.conf (perm 644) :-
tftp dgram udp wait root /usr/lbin/tftpd tftpd /opt/ignite /var/opt/ignite
bootps dgram udp wait root /usr/lbin/bootpd bootpd
/var/adm/inetd.sec (644) :-
exists, but all commented out.
/etc/passwd (perm 444) :-
tftp:*:510:1:Trivial FTP user:/home/tftpdir:/usr/bin/false
/home/tftpdir is empty
The box won't boot. The status light is flashing. The test page shows error 3 I/O card not ready. LAN error - external loopback. Ip address isn't set.
Does anyone know how to get this thing to boot?
Many thanks,
Dave.

Re: Jetadmin EX Plus - bootp
I forgot to say. It's connected via a hub and RJ 45 cable. From the printout it thinks it's using the bnc port. ip address, gateway and bootp server are all 0.0.0.0

Dave.

Re: Jetadmin EX Plus - bootp
Fixed it. Bit of a strange one. I connected the jet box to the C160 via a crossover cable. The bootp then worked a treat. I connected it back via the hub, reset the jet box to factory settings. Did a test print to make sure all ip's were 0.0.0.0. Then I power cycled the jet box and it booted of the C160. All is now ok.

Dave.
