Hello,
i have a JetDirect 500x (J3265A) with port 1 connected to a plotter and port 2 connected to a printer.
The JetDirect box has one IP address, so my question is:
How to setup on HP-UX 10.20 the printer queues for the different ports ?
Thanks in advance

Solution
Get a copy of the latest JetAdmin software. Once loaded, run the /opt/hpnp/bin/jetadmin program and add the printer (I am assuming that somehow, you have given the JetDirectEX box an IP address. If not, or if the address was mistakenly assigned from a DHCP server on the network, use option 1 in JetAdmin to setup bootp to give the printer an address. (this assumes that the HP-UX system and the JetDirectEX box are on the same subnet).
Then run jetadmin and select menu option 3 which will add a printer (or plotter) to the HP-UX system. The JetDirectEX box uses one IP address but up to 3 different sockets starting at 9100 to communicate to the different ports. If the JetDirectEX box can be pinged by IP address, then JetAdmin will pretty much walk you through the multi-port setup.
There is also a WebJetAdmin package you can download if you like web-based tools.
