kernel telnet params

We have a problem with telnet and the error
message:

telnetd: Telnet device drivers missing: No such device

I am assuming that this is some kind of kernel
param limit. But which ones need bumped up.
Just nstrtel or nstrpty also. Whats strange
is that there are not alot of people using
telnet. If I start up 10-14 telnet sessions
the problem occurs. There are only 4-5 telnetds
running. How can this be??

insf -e

This should rebuild the device drivers and psuedo termianls and at least let you have 60 telnet sessions.

putting the kernel you have pending into production will require a boot which does the same thing, but you can relieve the short term situation with the insf command.

There may be other issues effecting the number of telnet users, so take a look at /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log for other issues that need to be addressed as well.

Possible issues: nproc, pumped up by increasing maxusers

Steven, insf -e worked.

My peer thinks that at one time when they had
a cpu go bad that something may have become
corrupt.

He also says be careful with insf. They ran it once on a system and it blew away some special drivers they had.
