Lock file

Hi, when installing device drivers for a seahawk fddi card I get an error of cannot access lock file. After several reboots, it works and everything is fine.
Why is this happening in the first place? I need to know as we have several cards to install and don't want to keep rebooting! Thanks

go to /dev and run insf -d driver
