make_net_recovery from itanium to ignite server on different subnet

I have an RX3600 on one subnet, ignite server on a different subnet. I do have a helper server on the same subnet as the Itanium box. I need to make an ignite image of the RX3600 to the ignite server...

How do I do this (what is the command line)???

Thanks!

Re: make_net_recovery from itanium to ignite server on different subnet

I think the helper system is only required when trying to do an ignite boot/install. The command to backup to a network ignite server is:

/opt/ignite/bin/make_net_recovery -s (HOSTNAME OF IGNITE SERVER) -v -A -I -x inc_entire=vg00

In case its not in your path
/opt/ignite/bin/make_net_recovery

Shalom,

HP-UX has a nice tool called:
whence

whence make_net_recovery

It will tell you where the binary or script is.

Re: make_net_recovery from itanium to ignite server on different subnet

Hi Craig

Boot helper is required only when you are trying to boot/clinet wihich is on different subnet than the ignite-ux server and the client lesser than 9.x.
Either you can use command line utility make_net_recovery or gui tool /opt/ignie/bin/ignite

The gui tool is quite self explanatory and it even has a demo part included for ignites net recovery backup. You need to use the /etc/bootptab if yuo dont have DHCP server in your network.
