Last question if we do make_tape_recovery is it reinstall os and over right all the patches.

if you restore with from ignite archive OS / patches and settings should be the same ase form the backuped system.

after ignite restore its very well to run swverify \*

The tape recovery contain a version of HP-UX with all necessary patches and driver software required to recover the system.-
