mem quad 4 issue

I’m researching an illusive issue with 11.11v1 (PA-RISC). The issue is that in certain circumstances running a non- -N linked binary that accesses q4 will cause an application to core.
My specific circumstance.

I’m running Sun One webserver 6.0 SP 9. When running this app, I have found that if you enable it to use q4, the webserver will core. I found the same to be true when enabling the ns-httpd binary to use q3. By implementing a –N link in ns-httpd, I’m able to run ns-httpd in q3, but still not in q4. In my discussions with HP on this topic, they alluded to an issue, but gave no specific defect ID, or detailed information.

Has anyone heard of this issue, have a defect ID or patch that corrects this?
