Memory

I have a mix of C360's, C240's and C180's. The memory looks the same in each. Can I move memory between the systems? or which is in-compatable with which.

Thanks!
Shannon

Re: Memory

Yes you can do that. Because all the Workstation are of same class . Just put the high density memory first and then put the lowdensity memory.

I think you can do that without problem.

Re: Memory

Shannon,

Follow Sandip's advice, that the highest density memory goes in first. So in slot 0 (zero) goes the highest memory card(s).

Also, check with some third party memory providers, because it's probably quite cheap to buy some also.

Re: Memory

Hi,

You need to follow the memory rules while installing RAM:

1) Memory always installed in pairs
2) Install from largest to smallest memory size
3) Install from lowest numbered to highest number slots

Also check these manuals about C class upgrade:

Re: Memory

Shannon,

The only incompatibility would be between on of your machines and a C3000. You should be free to swap at will.

Enjoy,
