mirroring-ignite

Hello Friends,

This is the first time I am logged into hp's forums site. Well buddies I wanted to know the difference between mirroring a bootable disk (in 11.11) and creating an Ignite image of it?

Re: mirroring-ignite

Hi ,
Mirroring a Bootable disk is for redundancy . It will be online mirroring. If one of the disk in the mirror group fails, still you will be able to work & you can replace the failed drive online.

Ignite image is for recovery purpose. You can recover your entire system from an ignite image. You can use the same for installing multiple server with common hardware.

It is recommended to take ignite backup before you do any major changes with the system ( like patch or software installations etc..). So that you can recover your server in case of any problem..

Hope these informations will help you..
