Re: Mirroring
Shalom Pete,
I already partially responded in the other thread.
This rx3600 has a Raid Card in it. Its got its own memory and CPU.
It has a simple to use, easy to configure program for doing mirroring.
I've worked with this exact server type in HP's Israel Ra'nanah performance center.
In all ways using this hardware raid is better than using mirror/ux. Mirror/ux uses the systems main CPU and some amount of other resources to do something your rx3600 server has a built in card for.
This is the same technology HP has been using in its Intel based servers. It is highly reliable, I used it the entire time I was working for NDS Israel. Never had a failure, never had a problem, even pulled off a no downtime disk upgrade.
Thats the way to go. In your shoes I'd forget about mirror/ux.
I did that in the past and had excellent results.
