mk_kernel fails ... +
Hi
I am unable to apply any kernel patches as the swinstall stalls with the err:
Compiling /stand/build/conf.c...
Loading the kernel...
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Unsatisfied symbols:
kpageoutcnt (data)
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: (Warning) Linker features were used that may not be supported in future releases. The +vallcompatwarnings option can be used to display more details, and the ld(1) man page contains additional information. This warning can be suppressed with the +vnocompatwarnings option.
*** Error exit code 1
Stop.
config: make did an exit(1)
I need to use the "abort" option each time. Am I corrupting my OS by repeatedly aborting?
This is just one of my problems. Another is that whenever I run "swlist" thro sam, I get the warning mesg box :
WARNING: Incomplete definition for the product "PHSS_19981", at the line 29190. The foll attributes are not defined : filesets
As a result I cannot even remove the patch and reinstall.
I am sure the collective brain can give an immediate and correct solution to the above problems I am facing.
Thanks in advance,
Shivakumar

Re: mk_kernel fails ... +
Hi
i think that the problem is because is install patch PHSS_19981 with not all the dep. of the patch .
you need to reinstall this bundle of patches to try to solve the problem .
patch : PHSS_21110 - replace patch PHSS_19981
PHSS_17225
the message that you are getting when you try to compline the kernel it about the LD and the patch that you are getting error is a LD patch.
there is a lot of trubleshoot of this error but after seeing the error that you are getting i m prety sure that installing the patches will solve the problem .
