Re: network lan problem

Hello!

Did you install HP's hardware (the lan card)?
Looks like the kernel can't find driver for.
Did you install driver for EISA lan?
Try it.

Re: network lan problem

Hi,

This is what you have to do.

#insf -e

# ioscan

if you still do not see the lan card. It means that you do not have the right driver in the kernel. Please install the right driver and re-built the kernel. Once it reboots and comes back it is going to see the EISA lan card. Please make sure that you have a good working lan card in place. Check the LEDs at the back of the card. It would give you an error condition if the card is defective.

Thanks !! Hope this helps

Re: network lan problem

Hi,

It looks like card driver problem of EISA slot. If the card moved to other slot or new installation, whenever booting, the system try to look for some information that already configured old file(i/o) in /etc/eisa/system.sci

So if already the driver was installed,
my recommandation is at first, remove this file /etc/eisa/system.sci and
and " shutdown -r " for rescanning and recreating i/o information.

Good luck!

Easy going at all.
