network slow
Hi,
I set up a HP CLASS N server (HP-UX 11.0) a few weeks ago. It is hooked in an internal TCP?IP network (no dns). The connection (telnet, ftp) is very slow. IPTraf reports that the files are being transfered at less than 1000 bps when our network is 10000. The other machines on the network are around 7000 which is reasonable for this network. What can be causing this poor networking performance?
thanks!
Gustavo

Re: network slow
Make sure your NIC on the N and the port on the router / switch it is plugged into both agree on the duplex setting. If you have auto-negotiation turned on on the router / switch, turn it off, and set the speed and duplex explicitly.
