nslookup hanging in 11.31
Hi All,
We have builded a server recently.Wwe are facing issue with nslookup.it hangs when we gives simply nslookup also. The order in nsswitch file is "hosts, dns".
IF we remove the nameserver option is resolv.conf, it works fine.
Nameserver is working fine as other servers resolving smoothly
Waiting your response.
Abhilash

Re: nslookup hanging in 11.31
Hi Abhilash,
Could you post the exact hosts line in the nsswitch.conf file? Is it;
hosts: files dns
Regards,
Robert-Jan

Re: nslookup hanging in 11.31
Please also post the "ipnodes" line in the nsswitch.conf file. If the nslookup command is IPv6-aware in 11.31, it may use the "ipnodes" line instead of the "hosts" line.
The default order for "ipnodes" is "dns hosts".

Re: nslookup hanging in 11.31
Hi
What is the server ip address?
What is the nameserver ip address?
If you have more than one nameserver in your datacenter then please provide their ip addresses.
Thanks!
