Re: Oracle DB over NFS on Netapp only 35MB/sec
Hi SEP,
Netapp use a special kind of Raid4 - and only this raid level.
In our case we have 4 fc disk shelfs in one big aggregate. Disks are 10k rpm.
Are there any special issues to look for within the filer?
As you saw in the history of this discoussion, when I access the same filer with a linux server and oracle I get much better performance.
Best regards,
Christian

Re: Oracle DB over NFS on Netapp only 35MB/sec
Hi Dave,
I changed the kernel parameter you recommended (nfs3_bsize, nfs3_nra). After the change our ignite backup (via nfs) does not work anymore. Because the Ignite server is running under 11.23 and there the kernel parameter nfs3_bsize does not exist. The problem looks like the parameter should be the same on client and server...
For that reason I had to reset these parameteres back to default.
Best regards,
Christian

Hi Christian,
In my reply that showed those tunables, I tried to emphasize these are 11i v3 tunables. Those tunables do not exist on 11i v2.
