Physical Memory

Is there a way to determine how many memory modules I have in my 785 system without removing the cover? I know that there is 512MB of RAM but is this on one memory module or two?

grep Physical /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log

Re: Physical Memory

If you have stm installed (from the DIAGS CD), can use this command to visuall see on screen what modules are in use.

Re: Physical Memory

Another option without diagnostics is to:
1) Reboot machine
2) Stop Autoboot
3) check the information screen for memory.

Re: Physical Memory

I am not sure about the 785 but memory modules can be seen with xstm (or cstm) very clearly on my enterprise servers.

Re: Physical Memory

Xtsm and cstm were the correct answers. Thanks! I didn't want to reboot and I didn't want to open the boxes. Thanks a million!
