Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

Hi Mel,

That happens when there's a high traffic load on the HP network. The cause is the style sheet definitions being lost or garbaged in transit.
When the load goes back down your screen goes back to normal. It's how I know when response will be sub-par.

Rgds,
Jeff

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

Often when I click on a reference to a document that somebody puts in his answer, I get a page that says "You're ID is not valid at this ITRC location. Please login again.". But of course I'm already logged in.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

Stuart,

That's because the doc reference points to the European site. You'll see www4, 5 or 6 in the URL. Simply change the 4, 5, or 6 to a 1, 2, or 3 and you'll be able to open it.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

This one belongs to Compaq ITRC forums or some place for intel machines rather than hpux forums:

Thanks..

Michael -
>>who can be contacted in case of broken links or unclear menu guidance in the HP support system>>

There's usually a few options:
* When in doubt, you can use the "contact hp" link to the left of any HP website.
* Feedback to the webmaster: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/contact/web_feedback.html
* If it's about the ITRC, you could use http://us-support.external.hp.com/usage/bin/doc.pl/screen=usageQuestion

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

Hi,

I used the reopen thread feature.
What is the difference between delete and keep closing post?
I selected keep, rewrote the text and the closing post disappeared anyway.
Shouldn't it stay untouched?

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - June 2005

As much as I want to think someone in the Linux forums could help this guy, I think he'd have more luck in one of the printer forums:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=927890

OSX -> Windows XP -> multi-function printer/scanner.. Not very linux-ie..
