printing error

Dear All
I have the following error in my HP-Ux 10.20, when i try to create a printer,

"The local system does not appear to be a member of a DCE Cell, and
the HPDPS client daemon is not running. SAM cannot be
used to manage HPDPS if the client daemon is not running.

Do you want the client daemon to be started?

[Yes ]] [ No ]

"
and when i select it i get the following error

"Retrieving data about spoolers and supervisors failed, the results
are: pdls: { ذ(@ ?ك"

Re: printing error

Hi

you are not using the right product for install .

if the printer is a network printer that have a valid ip address , you need to download the jetadmin - jetdirect software and install it on the hp-ux .

you can find the product : http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=18923&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=27350&prodTypeId=18972

install it with swinstall and then config. your printer .

Re: printing error

Hi

you are not installing right ,

the command need to be :
swinstall -s /tmp/HP10e134.SD , if the depot file is in /tmp .

also if you have problem with the install process you can restart the swagentd with the comand : swagentd -r .

Re: printing error

Try moving the depot file "HP10e134.SD " into /tmp and installing it the way Eran explained.
