Problem using ftp
Hi.
I connect to an HP-UX 11.00 (64 bit) via ftp (ftp://xxxxx:yyyy@server) using Internet Explorer and the file names are formed with the hour of modification and the real name of the file. If I do the same with Netscape, the names are the permissions of the file.
I didn't notice any problem with other kind of ftp text client.
Thanks to all in advance.
Rafa

Re: Problem using ftp
Sounds like they're doing the moral equivelant of ls -l on the files and trying to extract useful information from them, but failing miserably. Perhaps the format of ls -l on your system is subtlety different than on other systems (like maybe the file names are really long, or the file sizes are really big, or something).

Re: Problem using ftp
Thanks.
That's the first thing I though.
And it isn?t so far from the really answer.
I've found the solution: the problem is LANG, all services managed by inetd get the value of LANG in /etc/rc.config.d/LANG and in this machines, LANG has the value of es_ES.iso88591, so the result for ls -l is different when LANG is not set o has the value of C.
