Problems with Character b , (Euro)

I have a problem to display the Euro-Character ??? under HPUX 11.11. Do I need a Patch or something to make HPUX fit for the Euro-Character?

Hi,

HP-UX 11.11 should already be EURO compatible.
Maybe you have selected the wrong locale...

You should execute 'locale' to see which you have available and select one of the locales with the @euro extension.

These are capable of displaying the euro symbol.

You'll need a minimum patch level too (includes fonts etc..):

Note that some applications may need to be recompiled and may not recognise the Euro char.

sorry ignore my link.. some bits may be useful, but downloading the latest patch bundle should be fine.

Re: Problems with Character b , (Euro)

This depends as to what you are displaying the euro on ..... at 11.11 you shouldn't need patches : see /usr/share/doc/euro_howto.txt for more info, but you will need an Xwindow enviroment since the euro character is only supported on hpux under Xwindows (due to fonts) so if this is a terminal on a server as opposed to a bitmapped display on a workstation you won't be able to do it.
