Problems with CIFS

Hi,

I have a doubt with my CIFS,
How could i export /etc/passwd to /var/opt/samba/private/smbpasswd ????
and
How can i see the connected users with my shared folders with commands ????

smbstatus will show active CIFS connections.

You do not export the entire /etc/passwd file

I do it for individual users.

smbpasswd -a

You can also integrate your CIFS authentication with ADS(Microsoft Windows Active Directory) if you are version 3 and above.

LDAP authentication is also possible.

Authentication against a Windows Domain controller is also possible.

Setting up and using CIFS to do Domain Controller functions is also possible.
