process does not have memory locking privileges error
Hey all,
I am getting this message in my syslog every few minutes:
process pid == (PID number) does not have memory locking privileges required for using large text pages in this system version. see setprivgrp (1m)
Now, I am in the middle of checking out this man page, but wanted to put this to the experts for a "man on the street" explanation of what is creating this error.
This is a K570 server running 10.20 and Oracle 7.3.2 ( I know, we're gonna upgrade...).
Thanks for any info you can offer1
-Tim

Re: process does not have memory locking privileges error
Note to self...
RESEARCH FIRST, THEN POST
It seems this error is coming from Oracle 7.3.3 (which we are running, my mistake). Do a search for "memory locking error" and you'll see many old posts about it.
Sorry to bother you all.
