Reset LAN card after every reboot...?

I have an HP L2000 with an SC10 attached. Since powering on the SC10 (configured split-bus) I have to reset the lan card (lanadmin) or I cannot access SAM, swinistall, ping localhost, etc. I didn't have this problem until powering up the SC10. Anyone ever hear of this? All devices come up claimed with ioscan as well.

What does /etc/rc.log say when it tries to start the network services. Also check /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log and dmesg for any hints, that could definately cut down on your troubleshooting time.

Good Luck,

Hi,
I'm not an hardwareguru, but this sounds like a termination error (with the SC10 connected to the core IO).
All the terminators in place on the SC10 ?

A life ? Cool ! Where can I download one of those from ?

Is the LAN inetrafce on one of those multi-function I/O cards? (on the back of the machine does the LAN cable and the SCSI cable come out of the same card?) Maybe you have a duff card...

Re: Reset LAN card after every reboot...?

look at you /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file. you should have the following setting to "up":

INTERFACE_STATE[0]="up"

if this checks out okay, what does your rc.log say?? When you powered on your sc-10, did you do so while the server was on? If so, you may want to power every thing down in order:

server
fc-60 (if used)
sc-10

then power everything back up in reverse.

Hope this helps.
