SAM Problem.
On a new machine, when I try to start sam, show me the message: The display is invalid , or something like this.
I am sure that I have not set any display variable, can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong ?
Thanks in advance.
Juanma.

Re: SAM Problem.
Try running "xhost +" and then exporting the display "export DISPLAY=xxxx:0.0"

Re: SAM Problem.
If you execute a
#unset DISPLAY
and try sam again, does it work ?
Hope this helps,

Re: SAM Problem.
DISPLAY=
if c shell
setenv DISPLAY ipaddress:0.0
Here ipaddress ---->the ipaddress of the machine on which you are trying to open the SAM.
Thanks

Re: SAM Problem.
On my system, it does not work, and I do not know why.
I have got " export TERM=hp " on my root .profile, so when sam is trying to start, show me the message " invalid display " or something like that.
That??s my problem, SAM does not start on my HP.

Re: SAM Problem.
mmm, strange ...
Try the following :
#export TERM=hpterm
#sam
If that does not do the trick, try using a telnet to the server. Can you start sam from the telnet session ?
Regards,
Tom
