Re: SAMBA authentication against W2K active directory

I've tried with Samba 2.0.7, but it didn't work. It was actually the 'Join' that didn't work.
With the latest version, at least a few weeks ago, 2.2.0 it works fine.

Re: SAMBA authentication against W2K active directory

IF you are using CIFS/9000 server in Versions A.01.06 (samba 2.0.7 respecively) you would be able to join the W2K domain by using /opt/samba/bin/samba_setup
choose security level = domain

If you are using samba do not forget to join the domain by 'smbpasswd -j DOMAIN_NAME'

Maybe you need to generate the computer account first. But usually you do not need to do.

hope this helps.
