ServiceGuard logs

Hi:

Do you guys know a way to redirect automatically the messages that services guard sends to syslog ?
I would like to have a separete file with these mesagges. I have tried configuring syslogd but it did not work

Hi,

Have a look at this link, you can use "cmsetlog -f" to redirect to a different file but there's a couple of caveats in that messages are still logged to syslog and you need to run the command again each time a cluster/node is restarted.

It's not recommended to use this outside of troubleshooting, firstly because cmcld opens the file directly and this can cause cmcld to hang if access to the disk does not work and secondly it confuses HP Support because they wouldn't find the error messages where they expect them. Also the context with other OS messages is lost.

You might want to to look into DSAU, which provides consolidated logging facilities.
