setting up remote printers

As usual I had a school district under my umbrella that purchased a NON-HP printer and want to print to it.. It has an internal printer server (non-jetdirect.) they claim to be PCL5 compliant..

I setup up the printer in SAM and it does print however it only appears to print ASCII stream rather then PCL.

I am looking at lpadmin and would appreciate insight into how to create a queue that uses a specific hp model such as the HPLJ5 .. .

Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi
See man lpadmin the -m switch will define whice model - models can be found in /usr/lib/lp/model.

In would try laserjetIII first.
