Re: swlist core dumping

Have you rebuilt your kernel recently ? if you do a dmesg command does it same name list mismatch ? indicating a new kernel whic may be bad ?
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

Re: swlist core dumping

If disk space is not an issue, try this.
- stop and restart swagentd and try running it again
- make sure you got the latest SD patches

Re: swlist core dumping

Could depend on your O/S and patch levels :

Extract from : PHCO_25875
s700_800 11.00 Software Distributor (SD) Cumulative Patch

JAGaa63615: The 'swagent' and 'swlist' programs dump core after a superseded patch is removed via 'swmodify -u ...'.

could this be applicable : advise install latest SD patch and then see if problem persists ?

a "what"& "file" on the core file may also show something ?

Yes, dmesg reports name list mismatch. So there is a problem with my new kernel ? I will reboot off the old one to test...

Re: swlist core dumping

The reboot off the old kernel fixed it, thanks. I tried restarting swagent before the reboot but simply got an ERROR, couldnt start. It appears the new kernel we built, and managed to boot off, was hokey. I shall rebuild a new one.

Thanks everyone.
