Experts,
I am trying to mount the filesystems of the luns assigned to another host.
vgimported, vgactivated, however unable to mount he filesystems. It is complaining about unrecognized vxfs version number.
on hp-ux 11.00 trying to mount:
The vxfs of the filesystem is 4.0 of the source, however on the system I am trying to mount vxfs is 3.0
Please advise, how to fix this. Thanks in advance.

Solution
Hi,
it seems like you have to upgrade vxfs.
From HP:
Multiple VxFS products are available on HPUX 11.00.
The VxFS product (JFS3.1) installed with 11.00 does not have version 4 filesystem capability. Later VxFS products (JFS3.3) include a version 4 filesystem.
Therefore, fstyp must be modified to identify VxFS version 4 filesystems.
You need the software or patches.
You can search here for patches about this (vxfs and JFS3.3):
http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/search.do?BC=main|&pageOsid=hpux
For example:
http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?patchid=PHCO_22205
http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?patchid=PHCO_18472
http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?patchid=PHCO_27567
http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?patchid=PHCO_18462
Please check that you download all needed dependencies.
