vgchgid failed.
Hi all,
When I try to make a vgchid in a BCV disk (after a establish and split in a EMC frame) to active and mount in my backup server I got the failed message.
My backup server is a k570 with HP-UX 11.0 and I already contact my representative support (in Brazil) that says that I have to wait a patch for this "kind" of bug.(?)
It is possible to try something else to active this disk without wait so long?
The only solution that I got so far is to reboot the server for the "failed message" disappear and the sequence goes Ok.

hi,
Wait for a patch? on a 11.00 box? I thought vgchgid should be working fine on 11.00 with BCV's. I use BCV's, but access it from a different host than the one it is mirrored to, so didnt have to use vgchgid.
HEre are a few links, which documents errors faced with vgchgid. These are special cases, where the number of PV's in the command line is too large, or the pv's are not removed etc:
