Something knows how solve this, i have HPUX 11.23
922:/ => vgcreate /dev/vglegacy /dev/dsk/c2t0d0s2
Increased the number of physical extents per physical volume to 34778.
vgcreate: Volume group "/dev/vglegacy" could not be created:
VGRA for the disk is too big for the specified parameters. Increase the
extent size or decrease max_PVs/max_LVs and try again.

Re: vgcreate error ....
The maximum number of PE's is 64K. If the product of max_pe's and pe_size (default 4MB) is less than the size of the largest PV then you need to specify a larger pe_size. Use the -s parameter of vgcreate.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Solution
Hi Alberto:
The message is self-explanatory. The VGRA is too large to fit into one physical disk extent. You need to increase the '-s pe_size' and/or decrease the maximium number of physical volumes that are potentially possible to add to the volume group ('-p max_pv). The effect of '-l max_lv' during a 'vgcreate' on the geometry of the VGRA is much less than the 'pe_size' and 'max_pv'.
Regards!

Re: vgcreate error ....
Ok the problem solves setting up the PE to 8 Mb.
