WTMP file
We are using HP-UNIX 11 and 10.01.
Can we null wtmp file present in /var/adm directory.
cat /dev/null > /var/adm/wtmp
Is this the right command, please let me know.
Thx,

This will empty them but leave them in place with permissions.
inetd -l should start enhanced logging.
To fix:
/usr/sbin/acct/wtmpfix < /var/adm/wtmp
Is there a corruption problem?

Re: WTMP file
go ahead and null it.
cat /dev/null > /var/adm/wtmp
> /var/adm/wtmp
both are same thing except second would run one less program ie cat.

Re: WTMP file
When attempting to get to your attachment, I click the paperclip, then it wants to save a ".do" file, not what you suggested. Can you verify? Thanks,
