hi

tnx to all for the great info on Xvg, i downloaded it and it looks great.
one question tho, i'm trying to print the graph to an hp laserjet and get the following err message, any ideas:
xwd -nobdrs -id 0xc000be | xpr -device ljet -rv -portrait|lp -onb -oraw -deis4si_unix
xpr: 32 bit deep TrueColor bitmap not supported.
lp: standard input is empty
lp: request not accepted

The pipeline hasnt't any data to offer lp. The failure begins with xpr for the error message given.

The problem is that xvg uses xpr to print the captured image. Unfortunately, it is very, very dated (check the list of printers in the man pages--most of them are in museums). I've talked to the author and he is looking into PBM (Portable Bit Map) utilities to convert xwd (the screen capture tool) into various formats (ie, Postscript, PCL, etc).

If you are doing that on workstation running HPUX, terminate processes which require a lot of memory such as netscape and give it a try again.

Glance will tell you how much memory each process uses with RSS or refer to colume, RES, for top command.
Never say "no" first.
