Install of Suse Enterprise Server 8
I just bought a Prolian ML330 G3.
I am trying to install Suse enterprise server 8 on it. I am having two problem:
1. the patition/format using LVM option took forever (2 days)
2. now with Suse Linux CD1 in the CD-ROM, the system is asking me for United Linux CD1.
Please Help

Re: Install of Suse Enterprise Server 8
Uh Oh.
My first suspect would be not having the proper driver for the disk array.
Next I'd check that drive termination is correct.
The item 2 thing is kind of funny. Did you make your own media(burn the cd)?

Re: Install of Suse Enterprise Server 8
Hi,
Here is the answer to your question 2:
It's just naming convention:
Suse Linux Enterprise Server 8 comes on 4 CDs. Naming convention is as follows:
CD1 - "Suse Linux Enterprise Server 8 CD"
CD2 - "United Linux CD1"
CD3 - "United Linux CD2"
CD4 - "United Linux CD3"
So, when installation procedure asks you for "United Linux CD1", just put second CD into drive and click on OK.
If you are not sure which one to put into drive, try all CD's one by one until installation procedure accepts it.
