my hard disk is full
Hi,
i'm running Suse linux 8.0 server. this Morning when trying to logon i received this error message:"The ff installation problem was detected while trying to start KDE. $HOME directory (root) is out of disk space.KDE is unable to start". I'can't no more logon graphically.I can logon in text mode. i'm suspecting my hard disk to be full of log files. if somebody can have any idea or can help me by telling me how to delete log files and also how to clear squid cache.
regards
KOUYATE Maury

Re: my hard disk is full
Well, start by making sure which file system is full.
Log in to the text console, and issue:
df -vh
Which ever one has 0% avaialble is the target.
If you think it's logs, then check /var/log/ and 'rm' some old logs.
You might also want to try emptying out the contents of /tmp/.
As for clearing out squid, probably /var/spool/squid/ somewhere.

One long-haired git at your service...
