Problem with vmware GSX 2.5
Hi,
We are facing a problem in vmware GSX 2.5 server for windows. We have redhat Linux AS 2.1 server as guest OS. The guest OS linux suddenly powers off and there is no error message in event viewer in windows and also in the /var/messages in linux. Anyone faced this kind of problem before.

Re: Problem with vmware GSX 2.5
Maybe could be a windows problem...
Is vmware GSX 2.5 compliant with Linux AS 2.1 ... or is this relation symmetric?
Peace, R.

Re: Problem with vmware GSX 2.5
We have multiple GSX servers running ES 2.1 and Windows 2k as the host OS. I've never had a problem running ES & AS for a guest OS..
Since the window suddenly closes, I would suspect this is a GSX issue. How much RAM & disk space are you allocating to the VM? Are you doing any type of direct disk access with the VM? You might want to try running the 'linux-up' (uniprocessor) kernel.
AS is overkill unless you have 4+ processors or are dedicating more than 4 gig of memory to the VM.
