rexec from hp-ux 11.0 to solaris 2.6
Hell all, I am trying to run rexec from an hp-ux box to solaris 2.6.
The user exists in the sun machine and .rhosts exists in the user's home direcory.
I can rlogin but when trying rexec I get "primary connection shutdown"
I looked that up in rexec man pages but it didn't give me enough clues.
Any suggestions?
Thanx in advance.

Diagnostic:
on the HP-UX box:
tail -f /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
attempt a connection from Solaris see what the messaging is.
do the Solaris equivalent which I don't know.
make sure permissions on the .rhosts file are valid. Check the contents of /etc/hosts.equiv for compatability issues.
Have you tried + in the rhosts files just as a test? That sometimes works.

solaris equivalent is
tail -f /var/adm/messages
also make sure names are resolving ok. try fqdn or ip addresses in the .rhosts file.
