system free after indefinite time
HP XW9300 keep hung after indefinite time on RHEL 4

Do you have ani error message on logs?
Check /var/log/messages
Also you can enable the MAGIC SYSRQ to generate a memory dump, sync the disks and restart the server.
/etc/sysctl.conf
kernel.sysrq = 1
See:
/usr/src/linux-version/Documentation/sysrq.txt
Try disabling the APCI (linux apci=off).

Thanks. The magic SysRq key was already enabled, however, system was totally locked up. No output in messages.

check up memory, use memtest86 to check for problematic issues.
This issue can also happen if there is any problem in the motherboard.
