Could also be hardware related, anything in the logfiles on the time it shuts down?

Re: DL360 G6 MS Server 2008, Power resets every two weeks
I've checked all the log files and there are no 'smoking guns'. Hardware log is empty, System log shows various warnings, but nothing which would cause this issue. Application log - ditto.
Server powers down every two weeks almost like clockwork. Use ILO2 to restart. There must be some scheduled event I am missing, however after searching a lot, I can not find it.

Re: DL360 G6 MS Server 2008, Power resets every two weeks
So does the server shuts down at exactly the same time every two weeks? If so log on to the console just before that and see what happends.
Personaly this kind of behavior can point out faulty powersupply, but if the shutdown's are accouring like clockwork that's doubtfull.

Re: DL360 G6 MS Server 2008, Power resets every two weeks
Do you have a redunded powersupply? If not hopefully you have a spare, then you can test if that is the problem.
If so maybe one of them causes the problem, remove one and see if it is fixed, if not put the one back and try the oter, but it may take a while to test that :D

Re: DL360 G6 MS Server 2008, Power resets every two weeks
DL360 plugged into an APC Back-UPS RS 1300 which is not a server rated UPS and does not have a sine-wave power output profile.
This UPS self tests about every two weeks and when it goes from line to battery, BOOM the server's power supply cannot handle the fluctuation in power and shuts off.
Tested this by hitting the self test button on the UPS to confirm the theory.
Plugged the server into an APC Smart UPS 1500 (which is a server rated UPS and outputs a sine-wave power profile) and now everything is fine.
Since this server did not have redundant power supplies, it was only plugged into the RS 1300 while other servers with redundant power supplies were plugged into different UPSs and did not suffer the same fate.
Thanks to everyone who had input. -Robin S.
