Laserjet 1200 printing more than one copy-runaway printer

after sending a printing to the printer it starts printing multiple copies until I manually turn it off with the go button. Its like once its sent to the printer it gets stuck there. I tried repowering it. Is the memory bad and does it need to be replaced. It prints good just too many

Well, if this is a Network printer on an HP-UX box then most likely you need to disable True End of Job.

cd /var/spool/lp/interface/model.orig
vi your_printer_queue_name and look for a line similar to:
TEOJ="on"
change it to:
TEOJ=""
and save the file.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

at this point it is just hooked up to a local printer. tested through notepad and it keeps printing and printing and printing.

Ok, this is not an HP-UX question. You need to re-post over in the Printers Area or PC/Windows.

Hello Judy,

if you use HP-VUE and vuepad, the printcommand is defined in /usr/vue/types/vuepad.vf, as EXEC-STRING.

see although: /etc/vue/config/types/Vuepad.cf

If you use the .dt windows system and its dtpad, the configuration of the printcomand may be somewhere below /ust/dt od /etc/dt/config.

May be, the printcommand ist corrupted.

May be "rebooting" the printer or testing it on another UX or WIN computer may be a goot idea, too.
