Windows 2008 x64 HPC SP2 + PSP 8.25/8.30 no managment homepage output of the agents

I installed a BL460c G6 with windows 2008 x64 SP2 HPC and passed the PSP 8.25 on it.
I added the the SNMP features
But when I start the management home page I don't see any output of the agents and also the server type is unknown.

I upgrade to PSP 8.30 but still the same.
Are there any service or feature that needs to be added on a windows 2008 HPC server.

step 1:
how did you configure SNMP settings on the server before installing PSP?

if u are sure SNMP is installed properly in 2k8, then you can skip this step.


configure public and private strings and access to this server.

check the windows firewall for incoming and outgoing rules regarding SNMP.



step 2:
did u configure the SMH components while installing the PSP or did u accept the defaults?
if defaults: start the PSP setup again, check the force installation flag (sry i don't remember where it is exactly) and then:

-click on the "configure now" link near Sysem management homepage.
configure it:
to trust all,
to allow unlimited access from localhost,
to not bind ip access,
to grant Administrators local group administrator-access
to bind to an IP (if u want, but don't forget to bind even 127.0.0.1 if you do that).
to use the correct SNMP Strings of the server, IF PROMPTED.


-click on the configure now near the agents and check the first flag.


-then unselect all other components and start the installation.




if everything's ok you should have a working SMH.

It is for windows 2008 x64 the High Performance version of Microsoft

It is not my first install on windows 2008 and 2003 and it works without any big problems.
So I added the SNMP features in the windows and did no configuration there.
Then I installed PSP8.25 with the defaults (express setup)
When I log in to the MHP It says server type unknown and no summary of the monitoring agents

Just thought I'd add my comments to this as well, we're also seeing this problem on a few of our Windows 2008 installations, where no manner of forcing installation or reinstalling HPSSD will make it work.

All W2K8 installations are done from the same scripted installationkit and onto the same hardware so they should be reasonably alike too, meaning SNMP and all required components are there and it's rather an SSD issue in my eyes. :-)

I have the same problem - my collegue installed Windows Server 2008 R2 without SmartStart.
Now I have installed PSP 8.30 but can't get SMH working.

SNMP is installed but not configured.
I have tried Diego's tips, but I probably lack snmp configuration.

Do anyone have a link to explanation of how SNMP should be setup ?

Yes, i told to reconfigure SNMP services, but probably i didn't specify enough how to do this...
