Windows Media Player

hey guys can you help me out im trying to play my music but keep getting this error

C00D11BA: Cannot play the file

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem
with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on
your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not
be functioning properly.

what can i do to fix this if anyone can help me out please this would be much appreciated thank you

Re: Windows Media Player

Hi mate

Do you have a sound at all in your Windows.
As windows is starting up, is it playing the starting sound at the beginning?
As you click, minimize or maximize your windows - are there any sounds at all ?
